The XXVIth Congress of the ISSCT was held at the International Convention Centre Durban, from 29 July to 2 August 2007 and was hosted by the South African Sugar Technologists Association (SASTA).

There were some 1179 participants from some 62 countries.

Post-Congress Tours  were held in Mauritius by the Société de Technologie Agricole et Sucrère de Maurice (STASM) and in Réunion by the Association Réunionnaise pour le Développement de la Technologie Agricole et Sucrière (ARTAS).

This was the second Congress of the ISSCT to take place in South Africa. The XVth Congress was held in Durban in 1974.

The Pre-Congress tours gave an opportunity for delegates to see the sugar cane industries of countries in South Africa and Swaziland and to visit the fascinating game reserves in this part of the world.
