The International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (ISSCT) is an association of scientists, technologists, managers, institutions and companies/corporations concerned with the technical advancement of the cane sugar industry and its co-products.

The ISSCT has been in existence for 84 years during which it has organized 26 Congresses, usually at 3-year intervals. The last Congress was held in Durban, South Africa in July/August 2007. The next XXVII Congress is scheduled in Veracruz, MEXICO in 2010.

Workshops are also held in-between congresses for discussions among specialists on key issues affecting the industry.

The hosting of ISSCT Congresses and Workshops is decided by Council on the recommendation of the Executive, following applications from Affiliated members. Application Forms for Congress, Post-Congress Tour and Workshop are available on this website.

The ISSCT is governed by an Executive of 10 members elected every three-years by the Council which consists of representatives of the different Affiliated Societies (23) who meet during congresses. The Executive appoints a Technical Program Committee (TPC) which is responsible for monitoring the technical activities.
