ISSCT PAPERS

In view of enhancing scientific and technology publishing by ISSCT members, the ISSCT Executive decided at the XXVth Congress in Guatemala, that its Congress Proceedings will now be posted on its website for exclusive access to its members.  Plans for these arrangements are underway.

Furthermore, selected papers from these will be published in appropriate sugar journals that have a wide international circulation. Arrangements have been made with the editors of the four Journals: International Sugar Journal, Sugar Cane International, Sugar Journal and Zuckerindustrie.

For the XXVth Congress, the procedure followed has been to let the journals chose the papers and to seek authorisation from the authors of those selected for agreement to publish. The response from authors and the journals has been very positive; out of the total of 150 oral communications, 66 have been selected by the journals and accepted by the authors, of which 13 have been selected by more than one journal.

The papers from the XXVth Jubilee Congress published so far  are in the following issues of the Journals.

The contents pages of the these Journals are now accessible on the ISSCT website.

Steps are being taken to develop an e-portal which will link the ISSCT web site with the journals concerned and with the website of the affiliated Sugar Cane Technology Societies and relevant cane industry research institutes. Occasionally, scientific and technological news and views relevant to our mission will be posted on this portal.
