The Workshop will be held in
Cali, Colombia. Cali is the second city of Colombia with a total population of 2 million inhabitants. It is located at 3° 21´23” north and 76° 29´54 west. Altitude: 900 m over the sea level. Rainfall: 995 mm per year. Temperature range: 18.9°C - 29.6°C; 23.2 °C in average, all year around. Relative humidity: 81.8%

ACCOMMODATION
Delegates will be hosted at

Single room per person per night – Col $ 190.000 or around USD$103 plus 10% tax, depending on the exchange rate.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee is USD $150, excluding accommodation, but including refreshments & lunches, cocktail, dinner at the Cali Viejo Restaurant on 26th June 2008 and pick up at the Cali airport, previous advice of date, airline and flight of arrival so as transportation for the field tours.

Accompanying persons are welcome and they are invited to participate in the Partners' Programme as given below. They will be able to participate at the Cali Viejo Restaurant dinner on 26th June 2008 at a cost of USD $20.

PARTNERS' PROGRAM
Mrs. Maria Elisa Victoria, member of the organizing committee has organized a “Partners' Program” to which the Accompanying persons at the ISSCT Workshop are invited. Tours will be attended on three languages (Spanish, English and French). The fee is USD$100. Details of the Programme are as follows: 

  • The first day’s activities (23 June) will begin with the official opening of the ISSCT workshop, followed by a guided tour of Cali city, including a lunch. The afternoon is a trip to the Cali´s zoological garden and arboretrum. Tour to shopping stores.
  • The second day begins with a bus drive to the old Spaniard style old town of Popayán, founded in 1536 by the Spaniard Sebastian de Belalcazar. Lunch will be at the Popayán´s Convento hotel, before returning to Cali with a short stop to visit an Indian Reservation at Silvia, Cauca.
  • The third day begins with a trip to the cane museum, lunch in Palmira and then return to Cali with a short stop to visit an orchid nursery.
  • The fourth and fifth day, will be on the field visits with the rest of participants to the workshop.

In addition, all delegates must be fully paid up Members of the ISSCT, which is at a cost of US$100 per person and must be arranged before registration (http://www.issct.org/mem.htm).
