REUNION

The visit
is organized by ARTAS (Association of Sugar Cane Technologists of Réunion)
which is affiliated to ISSCT.
The cost
of the organization of these two days, as far as transport and meals are
concerned, will be entirely met by ARTAS, with the support of its local
partners, professionals and institutions.
Participants will have to bear the costs of their air ticket to Réunion,
as well as the two hotel nights.
For air
travel there are two airlines in operation between Mauritius and Réunion,
namely Air Mauritius and Air Austral. It is possible to combine the
outward and inward flights on either of the two airlines.
For
travel to Réunion the flights available are MK 228 (arriving in
Réunion at 08h40 or UU 103 (arriving in Réunion at 10h05).
The hotel
night will be 133Є single room and 178Є double room (i.e.
89Є per person).
Please
note that all visitors requiring an entry visa for France will need one
for Réunion . They should therefore contact the French Embassy in their
country or the nearest French Consulate, specifying that they are not
visiting Metropolitan France but RÉUNION

PROGRAMME
The
proposed visits will concentrate on two industrial sites and the project
site for the transfer of water from East to West.
Day 1:
Arrival Gillot Airport
Morning
Depending on the number of participants the morning visit will
proceed in 2 groups.
Theme 1: Visit of the construction site of the tunnel for the
transfer of water.
Theme 2: The presentation of the CIRAD & CERF Sugar Cane Research Programme
and facilities
at the CERF.
Afternoon
Visit to the industrial site of BOIS ROUGE
Bois Rouge Sugar Mill
Savanna Distillery
Bois Rouge Thermal Power Station
Evening
Cocktail and Dinner
Day
2: Morning
Visit
to the conditioning and packaging plant “Mascarin”
Visit to the Mont Repos Station (delivery of water from the East)
and
to irrigation sites of the phase which has already started in this
project.
Afternoon
Visit to the GOL Industrial Site
GOL Sugar Mill
GOL Thermal Power Station
Evening:
Dinner
