Shields were awarded to the Senior authors of the Best Papers of each Commission as follows:

  2. "Robert Antoine" Award for best paper Biology Commission
    François-Régis Goebel     (France)

  3. "Emile Hugot" Award for best paper Factory Commission
     Luis Fernando Echeverri (USA)

  4. "Maurice Paturau" Award for best paper Co-Products Commission
     José Luiz Oliverio (Brazil)

  5. "H. William Kerr" Award for best paper Management Commission
     Adrian Theodor Wynne     (South Africa)

The awards were named after past sugar cane technologists, members of ISSCT, who had distinguished themselves in the respective disciplines.

All authors of the awarded papers also received a certificate each.
